The RBRLV virtual rally stage "Samsonas Rally Utena" has come to the finish! In total, more than 70 participants competed in event. For some, the rally turned out to be successful, while others struggled with technical difficulties.
In changing weather conditions 14 stages were completed, which perfectly reflected the skill of the participants to adapt to the tracks and experience in tire selection. The season leaders had to combine both fast and stable driving. The fastest pilot this time was Michal Lukasik from Poland!
In total, the champions of the final stage were determined in 4 different classes:
LRČ1 class, there was a nerve-wracking battle for both the first place in the rally and the overall ranking, where Rihards Maspans demonstrated his superiority. Kristaps Ušvilas, who was in the leading position after the first day, got carried away with speed on the second day and crashed without controlling his vehicle, leaving the race. Pilot Benedikt Varzas also had a similar fate. Gatis Gross experienced technical problems on the second day, which prevented him from continuing the rally. As a result:
1 - Rihards Maspans
2 - Lauris Ermansons
3 - Remigius Lapnskas
LRČ2 class, season leader Gevin Peet showed a solid performance that safely took him to the season overall victory. The winner of the rally, Michal Lukasik, was in 3rd place after the first day, but he was able to take advantage of the mistakes of his competitors and in the middle of the second day he established himself in the leading positions of the rally, which he also held until the end. As a result:
1 - Michal Lukasik
2 - Gevin Peet
3 - Atis Gromovs
LRČ3 class, a great fight was observed between Kristiāns Jakovļevs and Kristaps Baķis. On the last stage of the first day in night conditions, Kristiāns made a small mistake, which he tried to correct throughout the second day. However as a result, he was only 0.5 seconds behind. Third place for Sandris Zonberg, who started the season convincingly. As a result:
1 - Kristaps Baķis
2 - Kristiāns Jakovļevs
3 - Sandris Zonbergs
LRČ4 class, Valdas Dziaugys continued to show a dominant performance, winning 7 out of 8 stages. Augustas Ivoška won second place with a historic car. For Latvian pilots in this class, the rally turned out to be very unsuccessful and for various reasons they only reached the finish line with the Super Rally. Despite his great experience, Lauris Aizderdzis made a mistake already in the first stage, but repaired the car and won 3 points from the Power Stage. As a result:
1 - Valdas Dziaugys
2 - Augusta Ivoška
Thank you to all participants and we wish you a successful holiday and celebration! We look forward to returning for the 2024 season!
The final stage of the RBRLV Latvian Virtual Rally Cup season will take place in Lithuania "Samson Rally Utena". The organizers have prepared 14 exciting stages, which will lead both along narrow forest roads and fast gravel surfaces, where you can test the maximum speed of the cars. The city stage will not be missed either.
The season-long battles have reached the finish line and the participants will compete not only for the podium in this rally, but also in the overall standings. Only Valdas Dziaugys secured the first place in the LRČ4 competition. A particularly intense battle promises to be in the LRČ1 competition, where Lauris Ermansons and Rihards Maspans are separated by only 4 points. Gatis Gross is also one victory away from the triumph in the LRČ1 overall standings. In LRČ2, Gevin Peet has gained a substantial advantage with a fast and stable performance, but Atis Gromovs can theoretically settle everything in his favor. In LCČ3 class leader Kristaps Baķis is close followed by Kristians Jakovlevs and Sandis Zonbergs before the final round of this season.
Participants should definitely bring wet weather tires, as the start of the rally promises to be especially rainy, which will make the difficult tracks particularly challenging.
We wish you a successful start and remind you that to win the rally you must first reach the finish line.
